By conducting a questionairre, I discovered that 80% of all people interviewed would like a college magazine. This means that there is a market for the product. This then led me to the next question of would you buy the magazine if one was on offer, 45% of people said possibly. With 60% of people saying they would pay something the magazine means that people will only pay so much for the magazine. The next question associates with the cost; how often would you want a magazine to be on offer, 90% of people said they would want a magazine either monthly or fortnightly. This means the price needs to be right if the magazine is going to cost. When asked what should the magazine contain the top 5 the reader suggested said were gossip, college information, college courses, events and a job section. This gives me the content which the target audinece want in their magazine. The target audience also suggested a range of different items the magazine cover should contain in order to appeal to them and catch their attention. These were colours, pictures/photographs of students and important news relevant to the area.
I have now got all the information I need from my target audience in order to create a good college magazine which will appeal to them. This magazine has to be aimed at the older teenage market and therefore the information that they want needs to be in the magazine. This will then make a magazine which appeals to them so they will hopefully buy it.
